Ours, All Ours

A week late, but I'm pretty sure it's official now.  This home sale / purchase we've done recently is the most bizzare probably in history!

We signed the papers to sell our old house and buy our new house yesterday -- one with our realtor there, one without -- neither with the buyer or seller present.  The buyer was supposed to show up to sign papers at 9:00 this morning, which apprently she did.  They had to have a Power of Attourney signed on the husband's behalf since he had to go back out of town to work (as he regularly does two weeks at a time).  I don't even understand all that, but apparently it's possible.

The realtor for the seller (aka the wife's sister -- ya, that made things a little complicated, but we won't go there) is supposed to show up and sign on the sellers' behalf today.  Guessing she did.  She seems responsible, so I'm not too worried.  Our buyers pushed to close by December 16th and their lender promised they'd have the paperwork ready in 5 short weeks.  We matched their challenge on our new house, yet things fell through in MANY areas on their end (old house).  We haven't had any problem on the buying end, so I think we're safe.

Soon after my last post, we did hear everyone was pretty sure things were going to work out.  I did start working on a few more things around the house, but honestly, until this morning when I heard the buyer had signed the papers, I wasn't so sure.  I imagined having to pack everything back up and move before back to the old house before Christmas.  It's a good thing I don't let my mind wonder often.

Life is nowhere near normal around here.  Everyone is starting to adjust although I've heard rumors that the kids are asking prayer requests that the boxes will be unpacked soon. Ha!  We've missed more school that I could have even imagined.  Think we'll be going to a 6-day school week for a while.  Today, Madison was doing a Thanksgiving writing paper if that gives you any idea! Yikes!

In my ideal, organized plan, I'd love to work on unpacking in a certain order, but right now the plan is to just get something accomplished!  This is one thing I did that made me happy!  It's the closet in our master bathroom that is plumbed for a stand-up washer and dryer.  We won't be using it for that purpose for a long time, so I made it my cleaning closet!  These were shelves we used in Isaiah's closet at the old house.  (I won't mention that it took us a very long time to find the top teir since we didn't use it previously and that it was in an unmarked box that was almost the last possible box to be opened. Good times.)  I just need to buy one of those wall organizers that you snap all your broom handles in to organize them.

I REALLY want to clean right now, but it would almost be futile with all the boxes and odds and end lying around.  Hopefully we'll get the bathrooms organized when we get back from our Christmas travels.

Since I have more to do in the time I have allotted before we leave, I will just take this opportunity to wish you all (all three of you) a MERRY CHRISTMAS!  May you enjoy God's richest blessings this holiday season!

Now I'm off to make a few goodies for family gatherings tomorrow, wrap presents, pack and oh ya, FIND MY HOT GLUE GUN.  I have NO IDEA where it might be.  I'm supposed to make an ornament for our annual ornament gift exchange tomorrow.  Thinking there might be an IOU in a box for someone this year. =D
