This morning we woke to temps in the 40s for a second day in a row, and unfortuantely the next two days' forcast is the same. Thankfully we're getting into the 70s by the afternoon, but it takes a long time to warm the house up. So today we started our first fire of the season in the woodburner. I'd hate to turn the heat on already so burning all the boxes that have been piling up downstairs will have to suffice. Fall is my favorite season (unfortunately winter is lurking just around the corner and that is my least favorite season)! We are all settling into the new [school] routine. I do have to say that I am thankful to only have two children to chase after for 8 1/2 hours of the day! Makenna has already made some improvement in school from last year. We're praying she keeps up the good work in school, so we can work more on her attitude and a grateful spirit! Madison is doing well in K5 and already knows most of what we are covering. Phonics is pretty much the only thing that is new for her so that makes school easy for us. Thankfully Isaiah has taken a nap every day, and we are able to have uninterrupted school time. Right now, that's about his only good trait (not really, but it seems like it some times). He is ALL BOY I must say. He's also a ham, so he thinks he can get away with being cute. Cute, he is. Getting away with things, he's not.
That's pretty much what's going on here . . . we're getting back into the two-services routine at church now that that college students are back in town. We usually have around 100 students attend Sunday morning. We have started a building project, but it isn't finished yet. Rick heads up the College & Career Class so planning for activities and having students over has begun.
Rick & I were able to get a way for a couple days (mostly for Rick's business trip). I was happy to tag along. We're already talking about going back to that area when he doesn't have so much to do for work. It was beautiful and peaceful. Here's a picture we took with the timer on my camera. I think it's one of my favorite pictures of us in the almost 13 years we've been together!
