Take No Thought

With only one day left, my heart aches for America, and I'm honestly concerned about the potential outcome of this election.

We are very fortunate to have a wonderful, Godly pastor that preaches the Word when it is popular AND unpopular. Yesterday was no exception. He didn't name names or tell anyone who to vote for. He just encouraged us all, showing Scripture, as to how we should again live our lives to honor Christ. (I had hoped to post a link to our church website or link the sermon to my blog, but I am encountering technical difficulties.)

Matthew 6:31 says "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?" (continuing in verse 32) "for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things."

No matter the outcome of the 2008 Presidential Election, we are children of God and our Father will provide for our needs! What a wonderful encouragement (especially in the midst of an economic crisis).

I encourage you all to first of all VOTE and PRAY! and secondly, vote for LIFE! God holds us accountable for the decisions we make. I would much rather stand at the feet of Christ having worn clothes from the thrift store and never have the money eat out than have to explain why I didn't do what I know to be right. Our God is still a Pray Answering God!!
