Makenna has VBS this week at church. The theme this year was Creation. Hats off to those involved in the set up and running of VBS. It was tops! There were different rooms set up to help support the lessons that were being told. Nana was blessed to teach in the Sun, Moon and Stars room (or as Madi called it the Christmas room -- due to the hanging "ornaments" and white lights)! I just realized I didn't get a photo of the ocean room. Maybe I can snag one from somebody. It was so neat because the view was like if you were in the ocean!

On the last day, Makenna raised her hand for salvation. We talked to her about it. She remembered getting saved at 5, but I think because of all the attention we have been giving to obeying right away, attitudes, etc. at home and per our discussion about kidnappers (and them not having Jesus in their heart to help them do good), I think she was just feeling badly for disobeying lately. We're excited because this has brought up a wonderful opportunity to start devotions for her!

Madison was not old enough to attend VBS. She was heart-broken and devistated, so we had to come up with things to keep her occupied and to make her feel special. Here are some of the things we did . . .

We painted and stickered finger and toe nails.
We made matching dresses for her and her doll.

We played outside with Isaiah.

We caught a fuzzy caterpiller and showed it to Isaiah.
We went to a local park to play.
Madi even drove a fire truck -- Oh, watch out! Hit the brakes!

Of course, Daddy couldn't miss out on all the fun!
We took a few minutes to take some pictures.
It started to rain, but I am excited to go back as I noticed
a bridge and stone bench on our way out.

Isaiah has been discovering new things and changing in so many ways recently. As Madi says, he's a big boy baby. (Because he's 1, we can't call him a baby, but he's not a big boy yet . . . a 3-year old's logic.) I took a video and hope I can figure out how to post that, but it is so cute of him making noises. He is up, down and everywhere on his own now and does it smoothly. He is getting more assured of himself daily. When I took some picture of him in the stripes, he had let go of the tv stand for a few seconds before he realized he was on his own. He does pretty well if you just hold one of his hands to assist him in walking. It shouldn't be too much longer until he is on his own.
He decided he could give up his phobia and crawl on the grass. Now there is no stopping him!

He loves bathtime!
I had to take and edit this photo.
A friend of ours loaned us her boy's clothes.
This outfit reminds me of a 1920s bathing suit!
